When most of the hostel stood ready for opening we looked at this huge wall in the reception. The owners asked if I could figure something out to do on it, maybe put together a collage of photos of Rio de Janeiro. I thought it was a good idea, but my head was searching for something more and colorful.
I proposed to paint the whole wall with a composition of some of the most famous places around the city, such as Lapa, Crist the Redeemer, Sugerloaf, Copacabana and the train up to Santa Teresa. The two mountains in the middle is a design of Vidigal and Dois Irmaos, where the hostel is located. The circles around represent the never ending vibrant life of this amazing city… Im glad they accepted it. I painted this composition in ten days, after uni and during the weekend. Up all nights, but I enjoyed it too much and I really hope I get to do more paintings like this in the future. What do you think?? 🙂
Thanks for reading my blog! Revealing my own artworks and projects is frightening sometimes, but I better just be used to critics and others opinions soon enough.
Have a good one all you creative creatures! 😀
